Tidbits, Did You Know…..

Did you know some of the water used at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon comes from the North Rim via the trans-canyon pipeline. Completed in 1970, the pipeline transports water from the North Rim’s Roaring Springs along the North Kaibab Trail. The pipeline crosses the Colorado River over the Silver Bridge, and water is gravity-fed to Indian Gardens. From there, pumps force water up to South Rim storage tanks.

One of the oldest hotel-casinos in Las Vegas, the Golden Gate Casino on Freemont Street opened under the name Hotel Neveda in 1906. Room and board was $1.00 a day. A year later, the hotel installed Las Vegas’ first telephone.

One of California’s oldest continuously operated hot springs resorts, Vichy Springs Resort in Ukiah, CA. was founded between 1852 & 1854!

Now you know………………………………………..I love Tidbits.
