Lakeside Revisited

In a Blade report on 1/22/05 this is what the owner of the Mall had to say.  “Jeep is expanding rapidly in Toledo and they’re looking for locations for their suppliers. I’m hoping we can convert it to a type of a facility that will be beneficial for Jeep or its suppliers,” said Mr. Kashani, a California businessman who, with his partner, Sammy Kahen, bought the mall, formerly called North Towne Square, for $ 1 million in December, 2002.”

So Kashani & Kahen, what’s ya gonna do now? Oh! that’s right, your out in California, just sitting on your land investment because it’s clear you don’t give a hoot about the mall or the surrounding area. Let’s hear it for the absentee owners who are only looking to fatten their pockets. May the Bird of Paradise fly up your nose!

One Response to Lakeside Revisited

  1. I say the City of Toledo should take the former North Towne Mall by eminent domain and convert it into a Multi-Generational Community Services Center.
Hey, if the City can take private residences by eminent domain to help private business as they did for Jeep, they darn well can take an abandoned eyesore that is creating not only blight but also environmental health problems from a private business and turn it into a community use.
