Oatmeal is not just a breakfast meal. Oatmeal has more uses than you ever thought! Did you know oatmeal can be steel cut? Have you ever been to Oatman, AZ? It doesn’t have anything to do with oatmeal except they both start with Oat! I think I’ll make some oatmeal cookies today, with raisins! Then I will start the oatmeal diet, after my oatmeal bath! Next it’s time to get Oatey! Have an oat-filled day!

“In striving to make our kids super safe and super smart we have turned them into bored blobs.” IMHO a must read take on Child’s Play! Lets read more about kids, it’s a real miracle! Every child should learn how to jump rope, then maybe one day, double dare someone to do it better! Summerwind Skippers showed kids it’s cool to jump rope! Heck, even Adam Sandler skipped rope in his movie Jack and Jill! Want more playtime, yes you do and here it is! Now go outside and play!!!

My Cousin Alan Rosenberg

On July 22nd Alan was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
On January 26th Alan’s daughter Rachel wrote this,
“Dad’s struggling with the uncertainty now, and we’re trying to make him as comfortable as possible and let him go knowing that he’s not alone and that we’ll keep him in our hearts and memories forever. He has decided to stop treatment today, and I’m praying for a miracle to come and change his cells back to normal, but the physicians are out of ideas.”
My cousin Alan, you the best son, husband, father and all around good man, my thoughts and prayers are with you all! God bless you!

Last year on this date I wrote this on Judy’s Jewels, today is still special in a different sort of way! As the years pass, the memories become more special! One would tend to think that memories fade, but not so with me! The memories of a family member or friend are never forgotten but put away in a pocket of my heart. One I can reach into and pull back out in a heartbeat! So, on this special day, it belongs to my Mom, I cherrish you everyday I am alive.

Is this Jack and Jill the first Jack and Jill you thought of when seeing the title of todays blog?
Jack and Jill went up the hill
To fetch a pail of water.
Jack fell down and broke his crown,
And Jill came tumbling after.

Up Jack got, and home did trot
As fast as he could caper
To old Dame Dob, who patched his nob
With vinegar and brown paper!

Or did you think it was about this Jack and Jill? Well, there is no right answer, but since I just saw this Jack and Jill yesterday, it is more about them! This was hilarious! I loved every silly minute and will add this movie to my library so I can watch it again and again!

Gefilte Fish

Nu, hows by you this morning? I’m fine, tanks for askin! So what does this broken english have to do with gefilte fish, nothing, but I was thinking of my grandparents and that’s how they spoke and they are the ones who cooked gefilte fish for me! Then I thought of my favorite broken english book, The Education of Hyman Kaplan, you should read it, you’ll pish your pants from laughing! My family came to America like so many other immigrants, over at Roland’s Ramblings , he did a fine job of explaining the difference in history of the Jews and where they came from, take a look and see! So, that’s the story, I’m a (wandering jew) my mind is wandering like broken english, a little hard to understand, but you get the idea anyway!
